Well, he told me

IMG_1859

Me: Campbell, what did you do with all the clean clothes I handed you yesterday?

C: I threw them in my closet and closed the door.

Me: Campbell, you’re supposed to put your clothes away neatly so they’re organized.

C: Mom, I’m just a boy. Boys don’t organize their clothes.

Me: That’s not true. Daddy’s a boy, and he keeps his clothes very organized.

C: Mom, I’m just a FIVE year old boy. We don’t organize things.

And I always thought it was Ella who would be the lawyer.

I can not, really can not get over how grown up he is. I know Mary is grown up like that but in my mind, he is still a just turned two. Just. Barely. Such a big guy. And very, very smart too!

Funny, 40 yrs ago my older brother used the same excuse. There must be a hidden portal of boys-don't-do-chores excuses.

Personally I take the closing of the closet door as a sign of organization!
