My first giveaway

Believe it or not, this is post number 698. I've been blogging for almost three years, and yet I still only get about 30 readers a day. I'm not sure what that says about my writing skills and my blog content. Not that I'm bitter or insecure.

To celebrate my upcoming post number 700, I've decided to hold a giveaway - I'll custom knit a little bit of fluff for two readers. Leave a comment on this post telling me what color fluff you'd like by Wednesday night. Male readers (Hi O'Pine and T!) can opt for a masculine little scarf or mittens. Actually, women can opt for mittens, too.

OK, so leave a comment telling me whether you want a bit of fluff or hand-made mittens and what color. (This contest thing is HARD!)

I'll select two random commenters Thursday morning and announce the winners in post number 700.

So all you lurkers, it's time to de-lurk yourselves.

Am I the first?

I would totally lurv a lovely piece of fluff in any shade you feel like working in.

I like Autumn colors, but I also know that sometimes the yarn just speaks to you - SO! If you pick me? Do what your creative side says. It will be lovely. :)

I'm here, and like fluff. I have noticed that, since more of my friends have gotten on Facebook, my blog stats have gone down. Also, there are so many ways they read them (on Facebook, by "folllowing", in email delivery, on Bloglines, etc.)--who knows how many readers you or I really have. I figure I write because I like to write, and so I can read things later. Other readers are just a bonus!

WOW. I just checked, and my latest post on my personal blog (the one search engines don't find) was number 696! We are practically tied! Of course, just 10-15 people read that one! Knitting blog is newer, though.

Thanks for the 9/11 post. Sounds like a very moving documentary.

So, I see that I put the comment at the wrong place, so I will try again. If I win the contest, I would love a red fluff.

I'd love some winter socks but since Summer's on it's way and bare feet are in . . .maybe next year! I'll save you the postage for now! Cheers and congratulations. I forgot to check but I'm somewhere near my 1000iversary.

Be happy you have 30! Most bloggers I know have stopped and gone to twitter because of time (theirs and the followers). You are a good writer; you are the exception.

I still haven't figured out how to count my readers, but I blog for me (and my mom, to keep her up to date) so I guess it doesn't matter.

Mittens OR fluff would be lovely - I can't decide! And while I'm a fan of all colors, I find I wear red most often. Especially in winter.

I absolutely love that you have been blogging for three years and that it's not about number of readers to you. That's a great attitude and in my better moments, I share it. I can't say that I'd hate it if I had more readers, but I really like the ones that I have.

Please put me in for some fluff! Any color would be great (I love surprises!)

Oh! Pick me! Pick me! Plum fluff, please. (and I do sometimes read you on FB or google reader)

Can I say variegated blue? That's a color, right?

Well, I'm one of the 30, though it's mostly through my feed reader. Does that get counted? If not, maybe your reader count is much higher!

Anyway, I enjoy reading your blog, and would love a bit of fluff - blue, maybe?
