A Wild Hair

You'd think I'd know better by now, but I don't.

I've been feeling rather frumpy lately. Perhaps it's because I still haven't bought myself any new clothes. Perhaps it's because I seem to be afflicted with acne that rivals anything a teenager has. Perhaps it's because I turn cough40cough in two weeks. I feel like I look like the bedraggled mother of four that I am.

So I decided it would be a good idea to color my hair red.

When my husband saw me walk through the with the box of hair dye, he sighed and asked why I just couldn't do something sensible like get another tattoo.

I should know by now that coloring my own hair never goes well. Some sections end up a rich purple, others remain their usual mousy brown.

The good news is that I used temporary hair color, so it will fade out over the next few weeks.

And the next time I get a wild hair like this, I may just get a tattoo instead.

I think it looks great...and tell hubby that he gets to sleep with a "new" woman and not have to cheat. Awesome! BTW...40 is not as bad as you think. I turned 40 last year and everyone kept telling me that 40 is the new 30. So I decided to make a change and do something just for me and that's when I became triathlon obsessed. The interesting thing is...I go to races and see a stack of women in the 40 and over category. All looking strong and confident. You are totally going to ROCK 40.

i like it! I also colored my own hair this week. I have been doing it myself for years now (ever since we lived in the bush and it was a choice of do it myself or wait until i came to town and that might not be for 4 months). This time however, instead of blonde I did it a caramel brown, my natural color. I think it looks OK. pretty different, since I have always had blonde hair (when I started to go dark, I started to color it). My husband says it looks good, but that he preferred it blonde.

It's not that wild. As a redhead, I am partial to red hair. I say, keep rockin the red!

Nah, at least a hair colour isn't permanent, I colour my own as well but these days it's grey roots I'm trying to disguise, it looks fine!

Keep it! Unless it will turn the swimming pool red...that would be embarrassing.
