Me, explained

This cartoon, from The New Yorker, explains me perfectly. When I say that I worry about everything, I mean it.

Once, my counselor asked what would happen if he took a magic wand and got rid of everything there was to worry about. My response was, "Well, I'd worry about it." I think he gave up on me at that point.

SO with you on this. I have to interrupt my worrying to worry about something new. I can't believe i ever thought it was a good idea to have children, especially one Jane Cooper.

I can relate to this cartoon, too. If I worry on a particular thing, it won't happen. Also, if it has happened to someone I know well or someone who lives near me, I'm protected. I know this is mostly hogwash, but the laws of probability are often on my side.

medication had helped me stop worrying so much...should I be worried about that?

Wow. That is SO ME.

My favorite is in the middle of the night when I'm not sleeping and my brain is spinning out of control and I can't decide what to worry about first.

Ah there's no point saying 'don't worry' to a worrier, they just will. I'm chronic at it frankly. It's not good, makes you quite pessimistic. I'm working on it but . . not much success yet.

Oh girl. I am not a worrier, but I'm married to one. Who recently began having anxiety attacks -- a very worrisome set of symptoms to a worrier, but after a cardiologist and a gastroenterologist and a neurologist all assured him there was nothing wrong with him, he can't really JUSTIFY the worry.

But it's made me more attuned to how MUCH he worries. And how difficult it is to break the habit.

Best of luck to you. Yoga? Meditation? These seem to be helpful to him, and others... and you've got SO MUCH EXTRA TIME in your life to fit in another thing or two!!
