I simply could not get all four children looking at me and at the very least not crying for one single picture. I think next year I'm going to have to go with a collage card. Or a card without pictures. Or maybe no card at all.

"Girls! Stop doing bunny ears! Campbell, take your hand away from your eye."

And now we've lost it. Things got sillier from here.I tried again in a different location, and while I got some decent pictures, there were terrible shadows over the kids' faces.
Next year, I'm definitely doing card without pictures.

I like the silly ones! I think you should send one of those. People enjoy seeing children in their natural state. It's kind of like the zoo.
I think the one you mentioned is a keeper. It is so hard to photograph children and with each additional kid, it gets exponentially harder.
This is a tough thing for me too! This year I gave up on trying to get my boys to wear Christmasy outfits. They whine too much. Your kids look adoreable!

Ah I think they're lovely because they're natural. I hate 'santa' photos where kids are forced to sit on some stranger's knee all in the name of a card for granny. These are just fine!

I love the natural setting. However, I can't even get TWO children looking decent/at the camera... so I bailed and went with a portrait studio. They really do manage to get good poses, though I regret losing the candid/natural feel. (Portrait Innovations; inexpensive and not nearly as painful as Sears -- AND got to take the photos home with me!)
